Friday's Letters

Dear Miami weather, first you are hot. Then you are rainy. Then you are blazing hot and now you are extremely rainy with thunderstorms and everything. Please make up your mind. I do not work well with indecisive people, let alone indecisive weather. -.- Is there a hurricane I am not aware of?
Dear E, I feel like I'm in the singing frog situation where you are babbling away and it looks like you are about to say your first word. As soon as I pull out a camera, you stop. I'd like very much to catch this special moment and you are being silly. Do it for Mommy, please? Pretty please?
Dear Edward, I don't know how else to plead with you about the coffeemaker thing. I promise that this what I really want and it won't sit there in a corner!
Dear JD, I am so proud of you. You behaved like a good little boy at the movie theaters last week when you went to watch Monsters University with your aunt and uncle. AND you behaved extremely well when you were at church with your grandmother. Just, enough with that one piercing scream when you have to say good-bye.
Dear bluum, I can't wait to see what you have in store for E this month! "Little Chompers"? Right on time with the milestones, keep it up!
Dear Friday, you're back! But just like you came back so quickly, you will also end quickly. <.<;
Dear Crossfit, we will see each other again today. Bring it on!

Thursday Thoughts

Yes, it's that time again for another link-up over at Ramblings of a Suburban Mom!

- I didn't mention this before but I was disappointed when my class was over because when I calculated my grade, I calculated a C+ (it's a passing grade but does not do well for my GPA). But when I went to check my final grade to be sure that is what I got, I see on my screen a "B". A "B"!
If this is not a reason to celebrate, then I don't know what is.
- I keep getting emails from Carter's for a clearance sale that they are having and I am finding it VERY hard to not drive over to the Carter's by my house and but at least one outfit for each kid. I just can't say no to a sale!
- Florida Supercon(*) is right around the corner. I don't know, I feel like I should be excited (some cast members of the original Power Rangers are going to be there! What!) but this year feels like...since I can only go one day, I'd rather just stay home. <.<
- On that note, Warped Tour is also in July but since we live on the surface of the sun, I'd rather save my skin. (Plus, I don't know if it's just me, but the bands that attend have been rather sucky and not motive enough for me to go.)
- E has recently got into the habit of blowing raspberries as I feed her resulting in a spit/food bath on myself. -.- It's cute but not when I'm on the receiving end.
- I should really harass Edward for a new coffeemaker, specifically a keurig one. That could be my birthday/christmas gift for the year and be done with it. I just want a new coffeemaker D:
- I twisted my ankle during Crossfit and I didn't do the 3 day straight thing. Stupid weak ankles.
- And wait, it's Thursday already?!? Jesus, this week went by way too fast...

Happy Thursday guys :)

(*)For those of you who do not know, FLSupercon is a comic book convention in Miami. Needless to say, you nerd out. lol

Manic Tuesday?

Monday was definitely manic for me. Playing catch-up at work was not at all fun and I honestly thought I could've lost my mind. On the bright side, at least I have one monkey off my back.

- I finally saw my best friend on Saturday. It's been a while and it couldn't come at a better time :)
- I spent my Sunday on date with the hubby :3 which is of course the best Sunday I could ask for.
- I already got my Ipsy bag and that review will be up  is finally up! I gotta say, couldn't have come at a better time and now for bluum to come in the mail...
- I was reading "Bossypants" by Tina Fey while browsing through Barnes and Noble and I was super tempted to buy it. It was interesting, much more interesting than I thought it was going to be. Ok, the next time I get those hypothetical questions about celebrities, I know what I will answer. Cause I do like her, even more now since I read her book.
- This week, I will be doing CrossFit 3 days in a row. D: Wish me luck on my weight-loss-strength-building-lunch-losing journey.

Happy Tuesday readers.

Ipsy June 2013 "On the Wild Side" review

This is my second Ipsy bag and I couldn't help but see spoilers everywhere, and I mean EVERYWHERE. Facebook, Ipsy website...<.< So I knew more or less what to expect just NOT exactly what I was going to get. At least I save myself from knowing that part. [Ipsy created this bag using the results from the ipsymatch quiz. Let's see how accurate it is.]
The expected pink packaging

First look
NYX Mosiac Powder "Spice" ($7.00):
I have never used blush before since my cheeks are naturally rosy from all the times that I blush blush. But I am willing to try this out. It's got a blend of 5 different colors for a more natural look and I can't wait to see how it'll look on my pale-ness. (About time I get some color into my life lol)

Starlooks Lip liner "Tipsy" ($12.00):
I have to admit, I was excited that I was FINALLY going to have some lip liner. I have never bought lip liner before and I wish I would've gotten the color red (or reddish). But this is not that bad to be honest. It works well with my skin tone and I think I can pull off using red lipstick (also I can definitely use this with the Mirabella lipstick I got in the last bag!)

Cailyn Cosmetics Gel Eyeliner with built-in brush "Iron"($21.00):
I seriously think I should have taken a picture of how amazing this gel eyeliner is. I really LOVE it. I recently discovered how much better gel eyeliner is than liquid(*). (I know, I know, but I'm no beauty expert.) I was scared that I was going to get purple but lucky me, right? Best part is the built-in brush which is a little wide for my taste, but its the space saver that sells it to me.

J CAT Beauty Sparkling Cream Palette ($4.49) + J CAT Eyelash with Eyelash Glue ($3.99):
Maybe someone can clear this up for me: Do you or do you not use it on your face? I am not too fond of glitter or fake eyelashes. So this was probably not my favorite in the bag this month. The cream palette, Halloween/costume worthy but not for everyday use. The fake eyelashes, I have never used them before. I still have a pair from E.L.F and I haven't even tried them yet...you know what this means. GTS. Google, how can I ever thank you?

I wasn't too crazy about the leopard print bag, but it goes with the theme for the month so I excuse it this one time. This month's value came out to $48 making it a bang for your buck (10 bucks actually). If you wanna try it out, click here!

If you got this month's bag, what did you think?

52 Weeks of Blogging with A Purpose; Show & Tell Monday-- Week 2

Today's theme is 10 Things I live for:
1. My kids.

This is a no brainer. I mean, those kids are part of me and I love them more and more every day. I'd like to think that they love me too :)
2. My husband.
Ok this was probably like 2 years ago, but one of my favs
of just the 2 of us.
Another no brainer. He is the love of my life. We have such great chemistry but at the same time we are so different...But it works, you know? He's my best friend and my greatest critic but I love it. I wouldn't change anything about him.
3. My family.
We are dysfunctional, at each other's throats half the time and still, we love each other more than anything in the world.
4. Starry nights.
I know where I live there are WAY too many street lights on and you can't see a damn star in the sky. But sometimes, you'll find yourself in a dark place where there are barely any lights on and you can see a lot of those little diamonds in the sky. I think back on the first time I ever saw so many stars in the sky and it's absolutely breathtaking and I envy every astronaut that has ever been up in space.
5. Random phone calls/texts/messages from anyone I haven't seen in ages.
I am really BAD at keeping in touch with friends. My best friend of 10 years can attest to this. But when someone remembers that I exist, my heart swells up. And I love it.
6. Music. Especially when it can give me goosebumps.
Music, in all it's different genres have something special. Have you ever heard a song that can make your hairs stand on end? I have. It's addicting. [I enjoy a lot of different types of music ranging from classical pieces to thrash metal. XD]
7. Afternoon tea/coffee.
Many of you don't know this, but I am Hispanic. My parents are from Chile. The afternoon tea/coffee thing is a HUGE tradition in my family. Although we don't live together anymore, I like to practice this tradition for the sake of reminiscing all the good times.
8. Friends...and anyone who is close to my heart.
I couldn't very well leave this out, could I? I am a bad friend sometimes (read #5) but to those who have stuck around after all these years, are the ones I know were worth keeping and they feel the same way. :)
9. Dramas.
Yes, I live for this. It is part my persona and I enjoy a sobfest from time to time. This is something I find that helps me let out some good emotions and reminds me that I am human...I can't always be stone-faced. I'd die if I become that way permanently.
10. Video games.
Whether it's on my 3DS, Xbox or Wii, I love it. I love playing video games. Maybe it's the art, maybe it's the art form of kicking ass, maybe it's the those brain teasers I love so much. But something about video games makes it worthwhile and brings out the kid in me. I wouldn't have it any other way.

Sunday Social, Week 3

Sunday Social
1. What is your favorite store to shop at?
I love Forever 21 for jewelry and accessories. Target is my go-to store for clothing and everything else I might need.
2. If you could afford anything and everything, which designer brand would you covet?
I am not a designer clothing brand wearer or user. I never could afford it nor would I want to. <.< That's just me, I'm a strange person. (Maybe I'm not good at hypothetical questions...?)
3. What is your must have closet staple?
Cardigans. I love cardigans. I can't live without them. Even in 100 degree weather.
4. What is your favorite kind of shoes? (brand or type)
I love sandals/flip flops. I always wear them. It's easier than trying to balance in heels (heels are more of an outing shoe), or tying up my tennis shoes.
5. What is the best clothing deal you've ever gotten? (sale or amazing find)
I bought a whole outfit plus an extra v-neck shirt for $20 at Forever 21. I must say, I was impressed with myself and my bargain hunting skills.
6. What is a style you'd love to try?
I'd like to break out of my shell of jeans and t-shirts. Of course, it's comfortable but there has to be more to that right? Maybe more skirts? Shorts? Or will I blind everyone with my pale, bright, white skin?

Enjoy your Sunday!

Friday's Letters

Photobucket
Dear FIU Summer A: GOODBYE AND GOOD RIDDANCE.
Dear Cookie and Kisses: The next time you bark like crazy at the UPS guy or ANYBODY that comes to the house for that matter, I will be sure to muzzle the both of you. (no, not really but you don't need to know that)
Dear JD: You made my heart swell up with emotion the other night when you told me that you really love me. I really love you too baby <3
Dear E, Those grunting noises to get my attention does not work on me. Maybe to your grandparents but not me. Just stop, please. It was cute the first 100 times and now I'm just tired of it because you seriously think that you will get me to pick you up.
Dear Edward, Have I told you today that you are just the sweetest, most loving husband in the world? No? Well, I just did :)
Dear Readers, You guys rock, end of story. <3

Thursday Thoughts

Thursday Thoughts
I am linking up over at Ramblings of a Suburban Mom this week for some Thursday Thoughts.
  • ONE MORE DAY! Then I am free at last. At least until August. But still, this is reason to be happy and I really am. :D
  • I stalked the crap out of my Ipsy bag tracking number. I was upset because one minute it was stuck in Kansas, then I saw Orlando and then back to Kansas? What.The.Hell. But it's already on the way to be in my hands by the end of today so YAY. Review time!
  • I'm a very emotional human being (I think that it's stated in the fine print in my genetic code). Yesterday at Crossfit, I found myself hiding my tears because yes, I was really struggling with the WOD(*). I couldn't even finish under the allotted time. I felt weaker than ever and it discourages me a bit. The only victory I can say I had was that I showed up. Which is better than nothing.
  • I think I might stay indoors today. The Heat (basketball) final is today and I don't wanna be out there when (and if) they win. It will be a madhouse. Oh and did I ever mention my sister is a Heat dancer?
Yup. Proudest family moment.
What's on your mind today?

Unmentionably Cheeky June review

Unmentionably Cheeky (or UMCheeky) is a monthly subscription for your unmentionables delivered to the privacy of your own home. Which, of course works for those who are a bit shy when it comes to panty shopping. (I do not have that problem, the problem comes when I am caught IN the panties. Right?)
Discreet packaging, nice.
It is delivered via USPS but surprisingly, it came to my apartment faster than expected. This is a plus in my book already! I think I ordered it on a Thursday and I got it Monday. Yeah, that's pretty fast.
There's no introductory card, this is more like a postcard of some sort...
Nicely wrapped in purple. Still pretty discreet...
When I opened the wrapping, my first thought was "Ooooo, how cute!".
1. This one is very lacy which is super cute, I love it. I had to try it on. (It wouldn't be much of a review if I didn't right?) I was scared that a small was going to be, you know, small. But nope, it's a bit stretchy for my child-bearing hips and fits very nicely. I'm not a big fan of pink, by the way. But it's nice :)
2. Move aside granny panties, lace and low rise are the thing now! I didn't mention this before but they are soft! This one was a little less stretchy but still comfortable. Cheeky, as promised.
3. This last one is kinda like a thong. To be honest, I didn't mind even if I don't really like thongs in particular, I'm more of a boyshorts kind of gal. Not uncomfortable where it rides up, thank god. One of my biggest concerns I'm afraid. :P

All in all, this was great. I really liked the material, it's a little stretchy which is good for me. For $8 (and free shipping), I'd say I got my money's worth rather than buying at Victoria's Secret. (although I do take advantage of those free panties cards in the mail!) I think the prices may go up soon ($11 regularly), so take advantage!

52 Weeks of Blogging with A Purpose; Show & Tell Monday-- Week 1

I saw this and I thought Why not? So I am linking over for a little Q&A/Show and Tell every week! This week's theme is "Who I am?" I honestly had to think about this one. I couldn't be able to describe myself with just a few words. I am a seriously blob of things and I love it.

WHO AM I? I AM...
...a coffee-addict. I love coffee. Plain and simple. I think of it as my "me" time. I also think of those Snickers commercials "You're not you when you're hungry". Best way to describe me when I haven't had a cup of coffee.
...a drama-addict. I love it and I hate it. But I have enjoyed since my Spanish soap opera days and I haven't turned back since.
...crazy, stubborn, hard-headed and plain dumb sometimes. Yes, I admit it. I warned my husband before he even thought of proposing to me. I am all these things. I'm not proud of it but I've come to terms with my psychotic-ness and I wouldn't want to be anyone different.
...short-tempered and lack patience. -.- Not the best part of me.
...a bit compulsive.
...nerdy and loving it. I still think that the one of the best gifts I ever got was my Gameboy (and rejoice when Edward buys me new games for any of my consoles). I still like to watch cartoons, read comic books and play video games with my husband. I, one day would like to own a game room. And I will. One day.
...not artistic, talented, DIYer or great at anything really. I prefer thinking that I am good at living. And to live, I have been doing it and loving every minute of it.

...a Mom. Hear me roar. I never thought in a million years I would ever be a mom. I seriously honestly believed that I would be a crazy cat lady and live out my life that way. But, now that I am one...I cannot imagine my life any differently.
...a wife. Another part of my life I thought would never happen. Who knew that I would meet the love of my life at a bus stop? And we'd have kids? Yeah, not this one.
...a sister and a daughter. I wasn't the easiest daughter to handle nor was I the best sister. But these are things that shaped me into who I am today. I am nothing without them who have loved me unconditionally after all these years.

For the most part, I am me. A flawed human being who's pretty sure she's been winging everything she does.

Manic Monday

Mondays. Oy vey. As you can already tell, I have a love/hate relationship with Mondays...but as long as I have my cup of coffee, I think I can handle it. Lol. This weekend's recap:

- Father's Day was great! OK, maybe not SO great. But it was good enough to make Edward smile. He LOVED his presents, especially the sentimental one. I couldn't help myself, I cried. (I made him one of those photo books on Shutterfly, totally worth it!) Oh, and the Beer Boxer? Perfect for my beer-loving husband (Review coming soon!).

- Along with Father's Day was also my kid brother's birthday! He turned the big 1-8 and I feel a little old. (OK, 23 is NOT old, but so sue me, I changed this kid's diaper!)

- I CANNOT WAIT FOR THIS SEMESTER TO BE OVER(*). I kid you not, I was probably re-reading the same line for 2 hours. 0.0 I like Behavior Analysis a lot. I really do. But, I get discouraged when I think I know the material and turns out I didn't. Plus, I had a headache. (Maybe from the lack of caffeine? I ran out of coffee. O:)

- I know I am SUPER late with the Grey's Anatomy thing. I never had watched it from the very beginning but I had seen most of Season 8 thanks to my sister-in-law. But holy hell, goddamn it...the Meredith-Derek thing was killing me for 2 seasons in a row. How can I do that to myself? T_T
SVU, come back already!

Enjoy a productive Monday!

(*) I already sound like a broken record. I think the internet knows I hate this. lol

Social Sunday, Week 2

I am linking up for week 2 over at Ashley Lately and Neely for Social Sunday!

1. What is your biggest driving pet peeve?
Impatient people. I cannot stand being cut off simply because I decide to follow the rules. I have my moments where the full-on road rage kicks in but only if I am alone…so unless you see my little rugrats in the back of the car, beware!
2. Biggest Blogging pet peeve?
Word verification. GAH. If you don’t want comments, add this little annoying feature. Other than that, I = happy blogger.
3. Biggest general pet peeve?
I am not very neat. I know this, my husband knows this, my kids will never find out. But, I cannot tolerate other people's messiness. I just can't. I won't. OK, let's be clear, it's not like I'll go into your house and criticize you. No, my house has it's ups and downs, it will never be picture perfect. But if you live with me and you are a slob...I will destroy you. -.-*
4. What is your most irrational fear?
Chucky. I know that it's stupid and very irrational. But damn, that doll to a little kid is THE scariest thing to ever come on the face of this Earth (err, television). Still not over it.
5. 3 celebrities you’d want to have dinner with?
I have this idea that most celebrities are so high up on their horse that they forget that they were once like us. Not famous. So come back to me later with that question once I finish watching these "Inside the Actor's Studio" episodes...

Have a great Father's Day readers!

Friday's Letters

Dear Mail-lady, Have I ever done anything to offend you that I gotta get attitude with eye rolling and everything? Or is it that you had to get out of your mail truck in order to give me my package?
Dear E, I assume when you pull away from me, you're done eating. So, why do you cry when I straighten you back up? Or when I do put you back, you pull and tug? It hurts. A LOT. Make up your mind, for both our sake, yes?
Dear JD, I know that you are a big boy. You don't let me forget it. But, those tantrums? Yeah, that's not big boy behavior. Please, oh please, get over the tantrum stage soon. kthanks.
Dear FIU, we are almost at the end of the Summer A term. Then good-bye until August! Then I will once again be your slave.
Dear people on FB, if I read ANY spoilers for Man of Steel, I promise you, I will leave you for the Twitter people.
Dear Candy Crush, I have been on the same level for 3 weeks now. 3 weeks! If you don't let up soon, I'm leaving you for another game.

Happy Friday readers.

Thursday Thoughts

  • 8 days left until classes end and I couldn't be happier. I have 8 more chapters to finish before then and I am working overtime!
  • I've got tracking numbers for Edward's gift (coming Friday), Ipsy AND confirmation shipping email from Unmentionably cheeky. I'm so excited! (Christmas, etc.) Can't wait until bluum starts sending out tracking numbers too...(Yes, I stuck with bluum, I think I liked it a lot better...)
  • Hot, then rain, then humidity and then the terrible heat. Miami, make up your mind!!!!! You're killing me here.
  • I still haven't signed JD for the daycare. D: I know, I know...procrastination.
  • Tuesday night, I went to watch "This is the End". Man, oh man. I loved it! I give props to that little Canadian weirdo Seth Rogen. I mean, if you want a good laugh, this is the movie you should see. I shall say no more for the sake of spoilers.
  • I think I can watch Grey's Anatomy all day...it's competing with my already big obsession with SVU. I know I've watched my fair share of SVU marathons and I love it...maybe small doses is better, for now.
What are your thoughts this Thursday?

So What Wednesdays?

It's another edition of So What Wednesdays over at Life after I "Dew" and I am linking up! This week, I'm saying so what if...

  • My three year old knows that Mommy needs her coffee every morning? This morning, he kindly reminded his Daddy to make sure Mommy gets her coffee...I couldn't help but laugh.
  • I keep making different changes to my blog? Like every week? I am looking for that feel, that...look that makes this blog truly mine. Reminds me of how I am unsatisfied with how I look in the morning and I change my outfit like what, 3 times before I walk out that door?
  • I subscribed to yet ANOTHER box this month thanks to Jennifer at Ramblings of a Suburban Mom. I just had to try it out...For $8? It's a good motivator to give it a go.
  • I ate wings twice this week. Flanigans has really good wings and I especially can't say no to a free meal. <.<
  • Have a big pile of "To do" and I STILL haven't touched it?
  • My house looks like it was designed by a three year old? I guess he really likes it that way because as soon as I finish cleaning, all the toys and crayons and books (and food?!) magically appear on the couch and floor again?
  • All I wanna do today is sit back and watch some Grey's Anatomy?
So what are you saying SO WHAT to today?

Never Ever Ever - Week 2

This week I am linking up over at A Complete Waste of Makeup for a Never Ever Ever session. I meant to do this last week for Week 1, but procrastination got the better of me.

Never ever ever...
  • Will I give up coffee...or my carbs. Crossfit, I am sorry and you may keep your paleo diet to yourself. But I won't quit the things I love, I am not a quitter! Portion control is key.
  • Will I love the seasons in Miami. What, we get like a week of fresh/cool air and then 51 weeks of humidity, hurricanes and death by heat stroke? Yeah no.
  • Will I give up my drama shows. Never.
  • Would I like or admit to liking "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia". I just can't. It's like one of those cynical shows that makes me feel like WTF am I watching? And reality TV. -.-
  • Would I not take a picture of E. That face is too cute to not share (I think I've said this about a billion times...hahaha)

CUTIE!!!!!!!!!!
  • Would I keep my cool when I know that I have a gift for me. Birthdays? Pfft, I open them before. Christmas? Empty tree.

Manic Monday

Happy Monday to you all.

- I have had a (somewhat) productive weekend. I've been trying to keep up with this class that has me losing my mind. But I know that I'm not the only one who is a little behind. But good news to this, I am only 11 days away from the end! Hanging in there!

- I finished Season 1 of Grey's Anatomy and I'm already 3 episodes into the second season. It's crazy the lengths I will go to for a little drama fix.(*)

- My little princess finally got her ears pierced! Poor thing, I made Edward be the one to hold her while she got her ears pierced. I've already had to be there during her shots, his turn to hear his little girl in pain! (Damn, I didn't take any pictures...)

- So this week will be not only busy with work and schoolwork but also on getting together things for Father's Day. Edward's things come in the mail this week so I have a lot of sneaking around to accomplish! (Veggie drawer? Last place he will ever look! hahaha!)

That's it for today, how was your weekend?
Blog on readers,

(*) I haven't seen a good japanese show in a while...those are my go-to shows for a good drama fix...
