Thursday Thoughts

Today I am showing some love at Jennifer's link up over at Ramblings of a Suburban Mom because a) there are a few things I'd like to rant about and b) I just really love her link ups.

~ I have been pretty upset these last few days...yeah sure, I'm not much of a cheery person when I am stuck in lines after hunting for perfect gifts for the family. But if there's one thing that upsets me the most, are thieves.
Nobody likes getting their sh!t stolen.
UPS dropped off some packages at my door (I was not home).
Neighbors confirmed they saw packages.
Got home.
No packages.
No one saw anything.
Upset? Pissed? You bet. It makes me so sad that people would have the audacity to take packages and that no one is neighbor-ly enough to help out.
/rant

~ On a lighter note, I thank God for the good people of Amazon who totally understood the situation. This made me feel a little better but still a little pressured to have to wait for the money to come back into my account just to get it to go back out. -.-

~ Christmas is here in 6 days!

~ My baby boy is finally 4 years old. :3 He's grown so fast...it really feels like only yesterday he was as big as E...
birthday party on Sunday
He had so much fun at his birthday party even at his surprise party at daycare! Which even if his dad wasn't able to be there, he told him all about it that very evening :)

~ ^ This means that E is almost a year old! :O As if the holidays and JD's birthday weren't enough to stress me out a little more... But regardless, my babies are growing up so fast. Where does the time go, seriously?

~ I finally got to see my final grades for the class and I passed! Just barely but I passed! :D Never again will I take more than 2 classes a semester. -.-;

What are your thoughts? How are the holidays treating you? Share and/or link up!

Thursday Thoughts

I'm showing some link-up love over at Ramblings of a Suburban Mom today and I have a few things to ramble on about.

- Ok, I am not too crazy about spading/neutering your dogs. It's sad. And letting them have one litter is good enough and it's the responsible thing to do what is needed to keep them from multiplying like rabbits.
But, why would you stuff your house full of dogs and allow all the female ones to get pregnant (multiple times, I might add) and as I said, allowing them to multiply like rabbits? It's not healthy and it's unethical. >.<

- Time has flown! E is already 10 months old and she's changed so much... Arg, where did the time go? [Says every mom.]
Halloween <3
- I have neglected my blog. :( Shame on me. I basically update it with my thoughts on the ipsy bags. Hahaha, oh how I love those little bags. I have one too many to be honest.
...and there's my moment of weakness and I'm back to not caring. hahaha :P

- It's been more than a week and I am still recovering from a sore throat. I'm not at 100% yet but I am hoping I will be soon.

- Autumn is such a beautiful time. I get so sad when I see pictures of the fall leaves, snow... It still feels like summer over here in Florida. :( This is what I get for living in Miami.

- November is here and that means early Christmas shopping! :D I'm not crazy, I like starting now because I like to beat the rush and not spend so much money at once. Spreading it out makes me feel like I still have money left over.
..Yup, not crazy.

- I have also been debating what to do for JD's birthday...and E's since their birthdays are like 17 days apart. -.- Wanted to get an early start since I usually fall behind on these things...Any good ideas? Maybe doing it together?

That's it for now! What are your thoughts? Join the link up!

Thursday Thoughts...and a little bit of everything in between!

Boy, oh boy! It has been a while blogging world! But I feel refreshed and ready to start writing again :)

- I just got back from vacation on Monday and I was ever so sad that it was over. :( 3 day cruises are not enough! You get a taste and you want the whole cake! Err, ship in this case.

- JD has been tantruming a lot more often now ever since I got back...before it used to be a tantrum when I picked him up from daycare and it did a whole 180 and he cries when I drop him off at daycare. I feel so guilty that I had left him behind and now I feel like he thinks that I might leave him again. Any tips? I know it's a stage and reassure him every time I drop him off that I am coming back...but anything else I could possibly do?

- The best part of coming back is seeing that I have a stack of boxes just for me to open :) Bluum and ipsy reviews will be coming up shorty ;)

- I think I might just post some of the stuff I saw or did during my little mini vacation for those of you who want a little peek at the wonderful world of cruising. I know I did research and wanted to know a little about it before I went on my cruise. I think I want to contribute to such an insight. Plus, gives me an excuse to go ahead and show off our vacation pictures :D

- Also included in my coming home package (tantrums and subscription packages), my little E got pretty sick and had a very persistent fever...so I was pretty sleep deprived (adding to the already deprivation I had from the night before!).

- Does anybody catch up with SVU? I can seriously say that this week's episode was pretty intense and Barba once again proves that he is one of my favorite ADAs on the show (next to Alex).

- Few shows that I am currently trying to finish/catch up:
~ Attack on Titan: If you haven't seen this show and you love watching some anime, this is probably one of the must-see ones. I think I may even get into the manga and that's going to keep me busy for quite some time. (It's an ongoing series :O)
~ Grey's Anatomy: I am still on season 9. I think I may be, like, halfway done to then start season 10.
~ Downton Abbey: I found out they are re-airing the 3rd season in December. So this is makes the list! Cannot wait :D

Thursday Thoughts

My oh my. Labor day weekend is upon us which I am sure that many of you aren't even really here here. You're just...there.

Confusing?

Anyway, so I am linking up today to Ramblings of a Suburban Mom for a little Thursday Thoughts:

- It's a little refreshing to be getting back into the grind of school. I think a little change in the environment is a good thing because doing the same old thing can get a bit boring.

- I miss my JD. I haven't really spent too much time with him these last few weeks since I started going to CF at night and since he started his little daycare trial. D:
I have noticed a few changes in his behavior:
1) He's eating. A lot. Which is a big deal because he's been super picky when it comes to food and now he eats everything with no problem! I mean he still has the whole vegetable thing going on but other than that he's improved in his eating habits.
2) He's socializing a lot more. I mean, he's not a social butterfly but his mannerisms have been showing a lot more since he's had to put everything we taught him into play.

- I also miss E. Since the daycare is right next door to aunt-in-law's (do we say that? I know Hispanics have a word for it) house and that's where my MIL has been staying so it's easier than having JD waiting for me to go get him at the daycare. So E just stays with her grandmother and I have the freedom of getting work done a lot faster than if the kids were with me. The sad part is, I still don't get a lot of work done because I end up calling every couple of hours to see how my little E is doing. D: Typical mommyhood.

- As for my CF progress, I can tell that I have been making some. Every week that passes by, I see some sort of improvement in my strength and my endurance levels. Which believe me, after being sedentary for so long... there's bound to be some sort of change in my stamina.

Note: I do CrossFit not to lose weight, but to build strength and endurance. I want to be fit, not thin.

That's it for now, what are your thoughts? Share and link up!

Thursday Thoughts

It's time for another edition of Thursday Thoughts over at Ramblings of a Suburban Mom! You know, where I rant about the things that are going on or those random thoughts that could occur to me :P

~ OMGOSHOMGOSHOMGOSH, what a wonderful thing to wake up to! I get an email from the lovely host herself telling me that I won the raffle for a Zoku Quick Pop Maker and Slush & Shake Maker:
Winner is me!
Hahaha, I couldn't believe it and it seriously made my day :D

~ Also, thing number two that made my day: have you done some googling today? This should be a word by now. If you haven't, then you're missing out on one of my favorite Beethoven pieces. <3

~ E is already cutting her first tooth! Is that how you say it, "cutting"? Anyway, the point is, her first tooth is coming out and my poor nipples have already suffered the consequences this morning. D: I never had the biting problem with JD so I may have to look into ways to get her to stop before it gets out of hand...Suggestions?

~ Remember my procrastination? And remember I said today is a good day? Maybe I didn't say it out loud here but I have been saying that today is a pretty good day. I ordered my International Edition books (which btw come from Malaysia) on Monday and 2 out of 3 came in already! What else could go right today? :D Edit: Upon actually opening the paks, turns out they packed 2 books in one pak so I got all my books for next week!

~ I was recently complimented on how my legs have been looking. I really hate my legs because I was once told that my legs were fat and I never wore shorts since then. Which I should've ignored them from the get-go because I have dancer legs and have had them forever. <.< But since I started CF, my legs have become a little more defined and it's a noticeable change. All I need is a serious tan or some color to the pearly white-ness that is me. xD

~ The countdown to my birthday continues and I still can't make up my mind on what I want to do. This is essential though: presents and cake and drinks. :3

That's it for now, what are your thoughts today?

Thursday Thoughts

Thursday again?! You know what this means, another link up with Ramblings of a Suburban Mom!

- I am exhausted from yesterday's WOD ("Grace")! Those kettleball swings may seem nothing at first but the next day is usually the killer D:

- I spoiled myself a bit last week and gave in to the JustFab BOGO sale. I did a no-no by buying jeans online...but I didn't really go too crazy for any other shoe <.< well, at least they have a kick-ass exchange system from what I have been told.

- I am still working on a few reviews that should be coming up soon, so that has my hand tied these days.

- My dad and I were watching the Crossfit Games and seeing these 60+ women doing Crossfit made my mouth drop. I can't imagine doing that sort of thing at such an age. @.@

- Edward is finally going to take a few days off from work so we are planning out a nice 3 day trip. Gotta keep a close eye on that hurricane coming our way though...

- The royal baby is all the rage right now. George Alexander Louis. I really can't help (thanks to Reddit) but think of this:
I probably messed you up too.

That's it for now, what's on your mind this Thursday?

Thursday Thoughts

It's another edition of Thursday Thoughts over at Ramblings of A Suburban Mom so I'm linking up!

  • I am recovering from a very persistent stomach flu/food poisoning episode. I swear to you, I felt like I was going to die. D: #firstworldproblem? Anyone?
  • I had to stop myself from making unnecessary purchases this past week. Like I NEED another few shirts in my closet? Or a few more jeans to throw around? <.< Maybe.
  • Haven't worked out this WHOLE week. Monday, woke up late. Tuesday to now, see first bullet point. No excuses, tomorrow, I will see the inside of the box(*).
  • I am on Season 5 of Grey's Anatomy. I don't know about you, but I had to stop myself from watching this show. NOW is when I got a little too emotional for my taste. That whole Denny's ghost-Izzie thing going on? Yeah, the waterworks happened. Driving me bananas. Had to stop.
  • I can't be the only one. But I gotta say it, sometimes I think my three year old is the spawn of Satan. There. I admitted it. I have never seen JD act up SO badly before. I feel like I am failing as a parent or I have failed as a parent because my son, who was so well-behaved, makes a 180 and becomes this little monster. I know he has gone through a lot since I was pregnant with E but now it's getting ridiculous and I am losing my mind. @.@
  • On a lighter note: I think E called me "mama" today. I THINK. lol
  • Ipsy should be arriving at my door soon :) I also (surprisingly) got my tracking number for bluum early this week. :O Maybe they read my last review???? lol
That's it for today. What are your thoughts fellow bloggers?

(*) Crossfit uses the term "box" instead of gym. Take it up with them for their weird terminology.

Thursday Thoughts

Yes, it's that time again for another link-up over at Ramblings of a Suburban Mom!

- I didn't mention this before but I was disappointed when my class was over because when I calculated my grade, I calculated a C+ (it's a passing grade but does not do well for my GPA). But when I went to check my final grade to be sure that is what I got, I see on my screen a "B". A "B"!
If this is not a reason to celebrate, then I don't know what is.
- I keep getting emails from Carter's for a clearance sale that they are having and I am finding it VERY hard to not drive over to the Carter's by my house and but at least one outfit for each kid. I just can't say no to a sale!
- Florida Supercon(*) is right around the corner. I don't know, I feel like I should be excited (some cast members of the original Power Rangers are going to be there! What!) but this year feels like...since I can only go one day, I'd rather just stay home. <.<
- On that note, Warped Tour is also in July but since we live on the surface of the sun, I'd rather save my skin. (Plus, I don't know if it's just me, but the bands that attend have been rather sucky and not motive enough for me to go.)
- E has recently got into the habit of blowing raspberries as I feed her resulting in a spit/food bath on myself. -.- It's cute but not when I'm on the receiving end.
- I should really harass Edward for a new coffeemaker, specifically a keurig one. That could be my birthday/christmas gift for the year and be done with it. I just want a new coffeemaker D:
- I twisted my ankle during Crossfit and I didn't do the 3 day straight thing. Stupid weak ankles.
- And wait, it's Thursday already?!? Jesus, this week went by way too fast...

Happy Thursday guys :)

(*)For those of you who do not know, FLSupercon is a comic book convention in Miami. Needless to say, you nerd out. lol

Thursday Thoughts

Thursday Thoughts
I am linking up over at Ramblings of a Suburban Mom this week for some Thursday Thoughts.
  • ONE MORE DAY! Then I am free at last. At least until August. But still, this is reason to be happy and I really am. :D
  • I stalked the crap out of my Ipsy bag tracking number. I was upset because one minute it was stuck in Kansas, then I saw Orlando and then back to Kansas? What.The.Hell. But it's already on the way to be in my hands by the end of today so YAY. Review time!
  • I'm a very emotional human being (I think that it's stated in the fine print in my genetic code). Yesterday at Crossfit, I found myself hiding my tears because yes, I was really struggling with the WOD(*). I couldn't even finish under the allotted time. I felt weaker than ever and it discourages me a bit. The only victory I can say I had was that I showed up. Which is better than nothing.
  • I think I might stay indoors today. The Heat (basketball) final is today and I don't wanna be out there when (and if) they win. It will be a madhouse. Oh and did I ever mention my sister is a Heat dancer?
Yup. Proudest family moment.
What's on your mind today?

Thursday Thoughts

  • 8 days left until classes end and I couldn't be happier. I have 8 more chapters to finish before then and I am working overtime!
  • I've got tracking numbers for Edward's gift (coming Friday), Ipsy AND confirmation shipping email from Unmentionably cheeky. I'm so excited! (Christmas, etc.) Can't wait until bluum starts sending out tracking numbers too...(Yes, I stuck with bluum, I think I liked it a lot better...)
  • Hot, then rain, then humidity and then the terrible heat. Miami, make up your mind!!!!! You're killing me here.
  • I still haven't signed JD for the daycare. D: I know, I know...procrastination.
  • Tuesday night, I went to watch "This is the End". Man, oh man. I loved it! I give props to that little Canadian weirdo Seth Rogen. I mean, if you want a good laugh, this is the movie you should see. I shall say no more for the sake of spoilers.
  • I think I can watch Grey's Anatomy all day...it's competing with my already big obsession with SVU. I know I've watched my fair share of SVU marathons and I love it...maybe small doses is better, for now.
What are your thoughts this Thursday?

Thursday Thoughts

It's another edition of Thursday Thoughts over at Ramblings of a Suburban Mom and I am linking up!

  • Relationships are difficult. It's all about mutual understanding and love for each other. Sure, there are things about our spouses that we have to tolerate (and I'm more than sure they have to as well). I am tired of seeing these young girls who are acting as if they are married to their boyfriends. You are not their wife, you are 16 years old dammit.
  • On a happier note, I FINALLY got Edward the perfect gift. I mean, I had already gotten him a nice sentimental gift which I know he will love but this other one is just perfect for him :) Sorry Edward, but I am not spoiling it here for you.
  • I have a love-hate relationship with surprises. I love them because it's just that, a surprise. But I hate not knowing. It's awful. I always wanna know what I am going to get but then again...I missed out on feeling surprised. So, Ipsy, I love you, yet I hate you.
  • I've missed watching 30 Rock. I miss that Liz-Jack relationship. They are such a dynamic duo...Edward asked me if I wish I had a friendship like that. The answer is yes. Yes, I do. I have something close to that with my one of my guy friends. It works and I love every second of it.
  • I am disappointed in AD. They had something great going...but I don't know what happened. D:
What are your thoughts this week?

May 30, 2013

Thursday Thoughts

- I love the fact that I lost 5 lbs! I feel so good about myself that I feel a bit more motivated to keep on with the death known as Crossfit.

- Cramming 3 months of schoolwork into 6 weeks? Never again.

- E has a stare that will go right through to your soul...I find myself just staring at her and wondering "What are you thinking?"

- This month has gone by so fast, it's crazy! Pretty soon, it'll be the end of the year all over again and my kids will be one year older and one year closer to becoming adults...

- I was doing my morning routine of coffee and blog-reading, when I saw a video on FB today that made me think about a few things. First off, the girl in the video, the almost-crying voice was killing me. (If youtube had an accurate CC I would forever love them.) Second, the point of her vlog was to point out how people would bully her because she looked like a fake nerd. When you think of nerd, you think weird-looking people with acne problems and not so good looking. This girl was rather attractive with big breasts. OK, so she developed. But that doesn't mean she isn't a nerd. I consider myself a nerd simply for my love of comic books, video games, manga, cons and so many other nerdy/geeky things that I have liked since forever. It does upset me however that a lot of girls have gone into a "OMG IM A NERD" kind of phase just to fit in. When those of us who are true nerds, never fit in the first place. [I was an awkward child with a strange group of friends.]

- Grey's Anatomy? What have I gotten myself into? T.T I decided to watch it from Season 1 and I'm not sure if I totally regret my decision...it's the drama. I am addicted to drama. (Esp. j-drama)

What are you thinking about today?
- Mel

Thursday Thoughts

  • EEK! It's been a week since I last updated my blog. This is ridiculous! But juggling work, school work, mommy work (hahaha)...it's a given that something has to fall behind. I'm a bit sad that it had to be this...lol
  • On that note...I have not fallen behind in my blog reading. LOL I really love reading about different moms and peek into their lives a bit and feel like "I'm not the only one!".
  • Both Citrus Lane boxes AND my Ipsy bag came in the same week (my reviews will be up soon enough!). My husband gave me the WTF face when he saw how many boxes were on the kitchen table. I warned him only one more will be coming in...hahaha! :P
  • I have been working on a secret project for Edward for Father's Day. I have to admit, this day always comes sooner than I think and I am unprepared. I am taking preventative measures and making sure I get him something special and heartfelt that will make him smile. (no spoilers!)
  • This Sunday is the premier of AD! I am so excited since we are basically a few episodes away from finishing Season 3 so everything's super fresh in my mind :D
  • I need to catch up on SVU and watch the season finale! I'm super stoked that they decided to renew the show for another season and I will be SO DEPRESSED when SVU ends. D: I need my fix of drama!
  • Shippudden? <.<
What else is on your mind?

- Mel

May 16, 2013

Thursday Thoughts

  • I was jumping for joy when both Citrus Lane boxes AND my ipsy bag had tracking numbers on them. I can't wait for it!
  • I have a wonderful husband, although sometimes he may drive me bananas, he makes up for it for his thoughtfulness. I had my CrossFit workout yesterday and I came back sore and feeling sick-like. This morning I couldn't get up to get our daughter from her crib. Before he left to the gym, he handed me E and let me sleep with her and handled Jonathan without waking me up. :D It's the little things, right?
  • CrossFit whooped my butt. I feel sick all over STILL. I had an apple and my daily cup of coffee but it made me queasy. I don't understand those people who love pain. Hardcore CrossFit people are a different species altogether.
  • I've been REALLY contemplating taking JD to daycare. I mean, I work from home, but he gets so bored here. He likes running outside and I try to get him out of the house as much as possible. Plus, he drives me a little crazy with E. I need some time away from at least one of them. <.<;
  • My textbook came MUCH sooner than I thought, this means that I can actually get started on my assignments for class and not risk getting left behind.

What else is on YOUR mind?

- Mel
